We built it for volunteer-led and under-resourced congregations — bi-vocational pastors, part-time admins, and small teams who love their people but can't afford enterprise church software or a stack of monthly subscriptions. Every church qualifies for the Free plan with no credit card required — a real app and website, not a trial. Online giving is an optional $5/month Giving add-on, which mainly covers what Stripe Connect charges us to run each church's giving account. More than 70 churches already run myChelper without paying for the core plan.
Why this program exists
Enterprise church software is built and priced for larger budgets. myChelper exists so a congregation's size or finances never decide whether it can communicate, disciple, and organize ministry well. It is one of four charitable programs we run — not a separate product company.

What every church gets free
At its heart: a shared church app and a free church website. Your church gets its own space in the free myChelper app, plus a hosted website. No credit card required. The Free plan is the same for a church of forty or four hundred, and more than 70 congregations already use it at $0 for the core plan.
A shared church app and a free website
This is the heart of the Free plan. Your church gets its own space in the shared myChelper app: share your church's QR code or link (both are in your admin account), and members who scan or tap it are guided to download the free app. On its welcome screen, one tap finds your church automatically. From there they see your announcements, events, groups, and prayer board, with your logo and colors on the home screen. You also get a church website with drag-and-drop pages and free hosting on your own myChelper address, and a starter site is ready the day you sign up.
An app under your church's own name in the app stores is part of the optional Branded plan.
Stay connected between Sundays
Share announcements with text, photos, or video and reach members through the church app — including groups, serving teams, classes, and a place for prayer requests and answered prayer. Leaders can message groups, and every church-wide announcement reaches phones with a push notification, without juggling a separate email blast tool.
Generosity that lands in the church's account
Add online giving — one-time and recurring — that pays out to your congregation's own payment account, with basic reporting and statements leaders can download for members.
On the Free plan, online giving needs the $5/month Giving add-on (it mainly covers Stripe Connect fees). Each gift carries a 1% myChelper platform fee plus standard card processing.
Rhythm for discipleship and gathering
Run a shared events calendar (including recurring gatherings), publish devotionals and reading plans, and give members a full Bible reader with multiple translations — so the week's ministry isn't scattered across unrelated apps.
Leadership tools sized for volunteers
Invite multiple admins with sensible permissions, maintain a member directory (including bulk import for larger rolls), and publish app and website changes with preview before they go live — built for teams who serve in evenings and weekends, not full-time IT staff.
